The AIST Southeast Member Chapter Gene Suave Scholarship will be awarded to an AIST Southeast Chapter high school senior or college undergraduate student, preparing for a career in Engineering or the sciences. Applicants must be a Southeast Chapter student pursuing a career in engineering, the sciences or other majors relating to iron and steel production. If there are no applicants in engineering or the sciences, other majors will be considered. Consideration will be given for extracurricular activities and the student's written essay. This scholarship fund is for members of the Material Advantage program who live in, or attend a university in, the Southeast Member Chapter area, children, stepchildren, grandchildren or spouses of active (dues paid) Southeast Chapter members for two consecutive years. Students may reapply each year for the term of their college education. High school seniors must submit a copy of their SAT/ACT scores. All applicants must submit a recommendation or evaluation from a Counselor, Teacher or Professor and provide the AIST Parent Member Name, Company and AIST Member number, or AIST Student Member number.
