The American Sign Language Endowed Scholarship in Memory of Laura Knight Schowe provides assistance for tuition expenses for students enrolled in a Sign Language course or seminar. Applicants must have completed one semester of Sign Language or have previous Sign Language experience. Applicants must provide the names and email addresses of three persons willing to provide recommendations for them. At least one recommendation must be a Virginia Western instructor, if the applicant is enrolled at the college. If recently attending or graduated from high school, applicants may use a high school teacher(s) to provide recommendations.
