AOE Fellowship

Description

Wendy O. Ward was a member of the AOE team for more than 10 years. Known throughout the concrete industry as a leading expert in helping organizations with their marketing and sales efforts, she was an advocate for broadening career opportunities in the concrete industry. Wendy passed away at the early age of 32 from breast cancer. The AOE Fellowship was established to honor her memory and help provide aid with the cost of college to students. This fellowship will be awarded to undergraduate students with an interest in sales, marketing or public relations in the design or construction industry. First preference will go to students pursuing a degree in Concrete Industry Management, though students from other schools and programs are encouraged to apply. There is a potential internship opportunity with Advancing Organizational Excellence. The ACI Foundation is serving the industry by establishing and distributing scholarships to high potential students in concrete-related programs. Applicants must be a student in a concrete-related degree program such as civil engineering, structuring engineering, concrete science and technology, concrete industry management, etc. during the entire award term (Fall 2026 - Spring 2027). To be eligible for an undergraduate scholarship, the applicant must be a full-time undergraduate at the time of applying for and during the entire award cycle. Applicants must be students in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Applicants must submit two endorsements. Endorsements are statements of evaluation of the applicant, in terms of potential for growth, character, leadership capacity and career interest. Endorsements must be in the English language. One endorser must be an ACI member (non-student) and the other should be an employer, if possible, or a professor. Please visit the scholarship's website or contact the ACI Foundation for more information.
