Scholarships are awarded based on scholastic achievement, character, worthiness, and participation in religious life, to members of The Romanian Orthodox Episcopate of America who have completed their first year of a baccalaureate program at an accredited college or university. Applicant must be a communicant member, or daughter of a communicant member, of a parish/mission of The Romanian Orthodox Episcopate of America for at least one year prior to application. Three letters of recommendation are required: 1) Applicant's Parish Priest (If applicant is the wife or daughter of the priest, then from another priest); 2) An official High School representative who can attest to the applicant's education accomplishments, abilities and goals; and 3) Another non-clergy individual, not related to the applicant, who can attest to the applicant's character.
