The Barbara M. Southworth Scholarship will be awarded to students attending Shepaug Regional High School or residing in Bridgewater or Brookfield, majoring in elementary education. This scholarship may be renewable. First-time applicants must have a FAFSA Student Aid Index (SAI) below $40,000. Applicants must submit a letter of recommendation from a teacher, employer, clergy member, guidance counselor, or other community member who they think can best speak to their character, achievements, and potential. Recommendations from relatives or friends are not admissible. There is a different application link for students applying for the first-time and students applying to renew their scholarship. Scholarship renewal applications are due by January 15, 2026. First-time applications are due by February 17, 2026.
