The Berkeley Undergraduate Scholarship is the University of California's most historic scholarship program which recognizes the academic merits of undergraduates. New and continuing students who meet the criteria set by the Academic Senate Committee on Undergraduate Scholarships, Honors and Financial Aid are awarded on the basis of both academic merit and financial need. The following are the eligible students to apply: (A) California residents and AB540 eligible students entering from high school with a 4.1 grade point average (GPA) or better; (B) California residents and AB 540 eligible students entering from a community college entering students with a 3.5 GPA or better; (C) Continuing students are awarded with a 3.5 GPA or better. Applicants must first apply and be admitted as a freshman or transfer student; then complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the California Dream Act Application by the early Spring deadlines.
