Black at Microsoft Scholarship

Description

The Seattle Foundation and the Black at Microsoft Inclusion Network have established a scholarship program to assist students who plan to continue their education in a 4-year college or university pursuing a STEM or Business-related field of study. The Black at Microsoft Scholarship is open to applicants who must be a high school senior. They must plan to attend a four-year college or university in the US in the fall immediately following their high school graduation. Applicants must plan to enroll in undergraduate study in Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or one of the following Business programs - Business Administration, Finance, or Marketing. They must also demonstrate a passion for technology and demonstrate leadership at school or in the community. International students are eligible to apply if enrolling in a US college or university. Employees and children of employees of Microsoft are ineligible. Up to 55 awards will be granted. Five awards of $5,000 will be given, which are renewable for up to three years or until a bachelor's degree is earned, whichever occurs first, on the basis of satisfactory academic performance maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, full-time enrollment, and continued enrollment in the eligible major. Fifty awards of $2,500 will be given, which are one-time only awards; past recipients cannot reapply. One online recommendation form from faculty or staff at the applicant's school must be submitted on their behalf no later than three business days after the application deadline date.
