The Carl and Lerlene Hamilton Oehler Memorial Scholarship was funded to honor Lerlene Hamilton Oehler, a gifted teacher, and her husband Carl Oehler, who was a successful rancher and civic leader. Together they shared a deep respect for the power of education. Applicants must be a current graduating high school senior student from Harper High School. Applicants must be in the top quartile of their graduating class. Applicants can reapply for 3 consecutive years. A letter outlining continued need and qualification, as well as a transcript from the prior year are required. Selection is based on academic and extracurricular achievement, as well as financial need. Recipients must be accepted full-time into an accredited college or university, public or private, before award decisions.
