Caroline Thorn Kissel Summer Environmental Studies Scholarship

Description

The Caroline Thorn Kissel Summer Environmental Studies Scholarship will be awarded to promote environmental studies by students who are residents of New Jersey or nonresidents studying in New Jersey or its adjacent waters. The scholarship is open to current and actively enrolled college students, graduate students, Ph.D. candidates, non-degree-seeking students, or those actively enrolled in continuing education programs at a US-based institution. Applicants must be either residents of New Jersey studying in New Jersey or elsewhere, or nonresidents of New Jersey pursuing study, or conducting research in the state or in New Jersey's adjacent waters. Two letters of recommendation are required to be submitted to be eligible for a GCA scholarship. One must be from the applicant's advisor on their academic progress and achievements, personal qualities, and qualifications for the summer program or project the applicant has developed or selected. The second letter should be from a professor familiar with the applicant's work and interests including information on the program or project the applicant has developed or selected.
