Charles LeGeyt Fortescue Scholarship

Description

The Charles LeGeyt Fortescue Scholarship is awarded annually for one year of full-time graduate work in electrical engineering at an engineering school of recognized standing located in the US. To be eligible, the student must have received a bachelor's degree from an engineering college of recognized standing. The scholarship will be awarded to a first-year graduate student pursuing a Master's degree program (or a doctoral degree program if it is the first graduate degree for the student). In the event the college is conducting a combined B.S. and M.S. degree program, the student in the penultimate year would be eligible for the award, which would apply in the final year of the program. Three letters of recommendation from the applicant's college or university professors who are familiar with the applicant's work are also required. Letters of recommendation should address the following areas: the applicant's ability to perform graduate work; originality and creativity; character; diligence and social responsibility; ability to lead; ability to communicate; where the reference would rank the applicant among students they have known in this field in recent years. Please visit the scholarship's website for more information.
