Daphne and Stuart Wells Public Service Scholarship

Description

The Daphne and Stuart Wells Public Service Scholarship will be awarded to students entering their junior year of college in good standing as a full-time student (completion of a 2-year degree or with the equivalent of 2 years of qualifying college credits). Applicants must be majoring in one of the following public service fields: Education; Environmental Studies; Health Professions and Related Programs; Marine Biology or Oceanography; Natural Resources, Forestry, and Conservation; Nursing; Parks, Recreation, Leisure and Fitness Studies; Public Administration and Social Service Professions; and World Affairs and International Issues. Preference will be given to students with broad-based liberal arts and science courses during the freshman and sophomore years. Applicants must be a resident of Monterey County (including undocumented residents) with preference given to students transferring to or attending CSU Monterey Bay or other 4-year college or university in California from Hartnell College or Monterey Peninsula College. The scholarship may be renewed for one year as long as the student continues to meet the eligibility criteria.
