The Donald H. Makela Memorial Endowed Scholarship was established at Michigan Tech to recognize a full-time undergraduate student, with first preference given to a student who is a graduate of Hancock Central High School in Hancock, Michigan. Financial need is a consideration but not a determining factor. Provided the student maintains a GPA of 3.0, a recipient of the scholarship may receive this award in subsequent years but must reapply each year and be selected by the Scholarship Committee.
