The Dr. Charman J. Akina Memorial Scholarship Fund was established by the Waimanalo Health Center in honor of the late Dr. Charman J. Akina who dedicated and served the community of Waimanalo and treated everyone with respect, empathy, and love. The donor requires the applicants to be a resident of Waimanalo, Oahu (zip code 96795). Preference will be given in the following order of priority: recipients who were awarded in the immediate prior year, if such recipient continues to meet the eligibility requirements and is in good academic standing; individuals that have participated in the Waimanalo Health Center's Ku I Ka Mana Program within the last 5 years; and/or any individual that has participated in the Waimanalo Health Center's Ku I Ka Mana program.
