Foreign Affairs Information Technology Fellowship

Description

Funded by the U.S. State Department and administered by TWC, this two-year Fellowship provides a path to an exciting career in the U.S. Foreign Service through academic funding, internships, professional development, and ultimately, an appointment as a Foreign Service Information Management Specialist. Academic funding includes up to $37,500 each year for the junior and senior years of undergraduate study or a two-year masterÔÇÖs program. Fellows also receive stipends, travel expenses and housing for two summer internship experiences ÔÇô one in Washington, D.C. and one at a U.S. Embassy or Consulate abroad. Seeking to attract top tech talent to the Foreign Service that reflects the diversity of the United States, the State Department encourages women, members of minority groups underrepresented in the Foreign Service, and students with financial need, to apply to this fulfilling and rewarding program. Applications for the 2021 cohort are now being accepting through Feb 1, 2021. Here are the basic eligibility requirements to apply. You must: ÔÇó Be a U.S. citizen ÔÇó Be enrolled in an IT-related degree program and starting your junior year in fall 2021, or seeking admission for fall 2021 in a two-year IT-related masterÔÇÖs degree program, at a U.S.-based accredited institution (in-person or online programs) ÔÇó Be able to obtain and maintain medical and security clearances and suitability requirements ÔÇó Hold a minimum 3.2 GPA on a 4.0 scale at the time of your application, and maintain this GPA throughout the program.
