Description

The Frederick V. Hunt Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in Acoustics was established by the Society to carry out Professor Hunt's wish that his estate be used to further the science of, and education in acoustics. Fellows receive a stipend, provided jointly by the Hunt estate and a fund established by the Acoustical Society, to support their research on a topic in acoustics at an institution of their choice. One Fellowship is usually awarded each year. The usual twelve-month tenure begins in the interval June--September; however, other specific arrangements will be considered. The amount of the 2020 award will be $60,000. Of this sum, $50,000 will be applied to stipend, up to $5,000 will be reimbursable for health insurance coverage if the successful applicant must pay directly for coverage, and up to $5,000 will be reimbursable for travel, publication page charges, and other costs as approved by the ASA.
