Fulbright Distinguished Research Chairs at Carleton University

Description

Fulbright Canada and Carleton University have established dedicated research chairs in support of educational programming and research. This opportunity will allow extraordinary American scholars and top-tier applied researchers to spend one academic year as a visiting research scholar working in a targeted area of academic inquiry. The award is open to Mid-Career Academics, Professionals, and Senior Academics. PhD (or other terminal degree) is required. There are three categories for the award. (1) The Fulbright Canada Distinguished Chairs in Arts and Social Sciences in Canada and North America Specialization is open to scholars working on any research topic relevant to the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. (2) The Fulbright Canada Distinguished Chair in Fintech or Accounting is open to scholars with specialization in Fintech: digital finance, blockchain, crypto markets, fintech governance, and data/AI-enabled financial technologies; and Accounting: sustainability/ESG reporting, tech-enabled accounting, audit analytics, and evolving financial and non-financial information practices. (3) The Fulbright Canada Distinguished Chairs in Environmental Science is open to scholars with specialization in: Conservation science; Environmental decisions; Environmental management; Water resources; Environmental contamination; Ecology; Geoscience; Biodiversity; Stewardship; Environmental health; Restoration; Resource development; Sustainability; Science communication; Environmental policy. An invitation letter is optional. Applicants are encouraged to contact the institution to discuss research interests. There are no language proficiency requirements, English is sufficient. All applicants must submit two recommendation letters. Letters should be from those who know the applicant and the applicant's work well.
