Gabriel Zimmerman Memorial Scholarship

Description

The Gabriel Zimmerman Memorial Scholarship has been established to support undergraduate students in the Division of Social Sciences who are passionate about social issues and committed to public service. This award provides another way for Social Sciences departments to recognize and reward their outstanding undergraduate students. Applicants must be UG majors in the social sciences (Anthropology, Community Studies, Economics, Education, Environmental Studies, Latin American & Latino Studies, Legal Studies, Politics, Psychology, and Sociology). This award is not solely need-based, but financial need is a consideration. The most important criterion is a meritorious, ongoing, and demonstrated commitment to public service combined with academic excellence. Candidates must be in good to excellent academic standing and submit an unofficial copy of their transcripts. Departments will review all applications before forwarding them to the review committee convened by the Dean of Social Sciences. A call for applications will go out in late February or early March. Check with your UG Advisor for your Department's Deadline. Please visit the scholarship's website for more information.
