The George T. Wade Memorial Annual Scholarship provides assistance to a student in a program of study (excluding liberal arts or social sciences) or pursuing an industry-recognized certificate or credential. Preference will be given to African-American students. Applicants must demonstrate financial need and be employed in the community. Applicants must provide the names and email addresses of three persons willing to provide recommendations for them. At least one recommendation must be a Virginia Western instructor, if the applicant is enrolled at the college. If recently attending or graduated from high school, applicants may use a high school teacher(s) to provide recommendations.
