Description

The Gerald Hawkenson Memorial Scholarship was established by Gerald's family to assist students in the Truck Driving Program. Gerald was a graduate of Independence High School and a driver for local trucking companies for 38 years. As an instructor in the CVTC truck driving program for 15 years, Gerald often witnessed firsthand the financial struggles many students had to overcome in order to begin a new career as a driver. Applicants must be currently enrolled CVTC students. They must also be enrolled in the Truck Driving program.
