This scholarship was created in honor of the legacy of the former president of Arizona State University and his wife. The award values the breadth of intellectual vision and commitment to contributing to the lives of individuals and the well-being of the community. Four outstanding high school seniors are designated Gammage Scholars each year. Recipients are selected on the basis of their academic record, university activities, and community service. To apply, a student must be a National Merit Semi-Finalist, National Merit Finalist, and/or College Board National Recognition Finalist (specifically the recognition programs of African-American, Hispanic, Indigenous, Rural and Small Town).
