The Greater Philadelphia Law Library Association Scholarships will be awarded to those students who are pursuing a graduate degree in library and information science. The purpose of this award is to encourage these students to pursue a career in law librarianship. Applicants who have received a GPLLA Student Scholarship within the previous two years are ineligible to receive a scholarship. Applicants must be a student accepted to and/or registered at an ALA-accredited library school (a minimum of half-time status) who will continue as a student for at least another semester or quarter. Applicants must reside within the geographic area covered by GPLLA. Preference will be given to applicants residing in the Tri-State area, which is generally understood to encompass the area of Pennsylvania east of the Susquehanna River, the area of New Jersey south of and including Trenton, and all of Delaware. At least one letter of recommendation is required, current or former teachers and employers are preferred.
