The Harden Scholarship is for high school students who will be graduating in 2025 and entering college in Fall 2025. Students may apply for the Waldo Scholarship if they participate in the Presidential Scholars Competition, which is designed for students to compete for a limited number of full-ride" scholarships. Students may participate in the scholarship competition if they have applied and been admitted as a degree-seeking student to NMU for Fall 2025 by the date of the competition for which they will be participating in. To apply for the scholarship competition, students must have a cumulative (ninth, tenth, and eleventh grades) high school GPA of 3.50. If a student is in an early college credit program, they are eligible to compete if they are in their final year of high school, have a high school GPA of 3.5, and will be entering college as a degree-seeking student the following year. There will be multiple in-person competition dates. For the November 3-4, 2024 competition, the registration deadline is October 21. For the November 10-11, 2024 competition, the registration deadline is October 28. For virtual competition on October 27-28, 2024, the registration deadline is October 16.
