Henry and Sylvia Richardson Research Grant

Description

The Henry and Sylvia Richardson Research Grant will be awarded to those conducting postdoctoral research. They must have at least one year of promising work experience, and have no more than five years of getting their PhD degree, are undertaking research in selected areas of insect control, and have demonstrated a high level of scholarship. The grant was established by Henry and Sylvia Richardson to assist in developing good research scientists to advance the science of entomology. The nominee must be a postdoctoral scholar, working in insect control by attractants, repellents, biological controls, thermocontrols, or chemical controls. Second priority will be given to those candidates working in insect control of medical or veterinary importance. If there is no suitable candidate in these categories, candidates working in physiology or toxicology may be considered. Nominations may be made by anyone. Self-nominations are also allowed. Nominators must provide a CV which includes the following sections: Background Information Section; Research Section; Teaching and Mentoring Section; Extension/Outreach Section; and Service. Two letters of nomination or recommendation must also be submitted, which one must be from a major professor and one from a previous instructor. Nominees must submit a description of proposed research and reinstatement about eligibility. Official graduate-level and postgraduate transcripts are also required.
