The Hixson Opportunity Award is open to incoming freshmen who are Kansas residents facing major personal and financial hardships and who come to KU. The awards are renewable for up to four years. Applicants must be current high school seniors enrolling at KU in the upcoming fall 2026 semester. Priority consideration will be given to first-generation college students.
