The IDEA+ Research Scholarship is awarded annually to support research that adds to the diversity of perspectives regarding large lake science, management, education, communication, policy and community. Applicants must be master's or Ph.D. students at the time of application, whose proposed research topic is relevant to large lake research, and who have not previously received the award. Preference will be given to individuals from historically marginalized communities. The brief title and extended abstract of proposed research, including a description on how this research adds to the diversity of perspectives regarding Large Lakes science, management, education, communication, policy and community must be provided with the application. A letter of endorsement from a supervising professor is also required. The letter should indicate the following: name, address, e-mail, and telephone number of the major professor; statement of the student's stage of progress and anticipated time to completion of degree; and endorsement of the student's application.
