The Institutional Excellence in Holistic Nursing Practice Award is awarded to recognize and acknowledge an institution, hospital, medical center, nursing home, or freestanding hospice center for Holistic Nursing excellence and professionalism within the institution. Nomination by an active AHNA member is required. The institution must have demonstrated excellence and professionalism in Holistic Nursing practices by incorporating the philosophies, competencies, and Core Values delineated in the Holistic Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice (Current Edition). Innovative, exemplary, holistic approaches that provide significant advantages to the patients, personnel, and institution must also be demonstrated. One letter of support from a member of the institution's executive leadership regarding how Holistic Nursing practices contribute to the institution's mission; and a nomination letter from an AHNA member must be submitted.
