Iowa National Guard Service Scholarship

Description

The Iowa National Guard Service Scholarship (INGSS) provides annual awards to active Iowa Army or Air National Guard unit members who attend eligible Iowa colleges and universities. Eligible service members have satisfactorily completed the required Initial Entry Training (IET) and have maintained satisfactory performance of Guard duty. Pursue a certificate or undergraduate degree at an eligible Iowa college or university (students with BA degrees are not eligible to participate even if pursuing a second BA degree) and maintain satisfactory academic progress. Provide notice of National Guard status to the college/university at the time of registration. Maximum individual awards cannot exceed the current maximum resident tuition rate at Iowa Regent Universities. The maximum annual INGSS award for the 2020-21 academic year is $9,274 ($4,637/$4,637) per full-time semester or $3,092 per full-time quarter). Applications should be submitted through the Iowa Financial Aid Application online at www.iowacollegeaid.gov/IFAA and the FAFSA at www.fafsa.gov. The fall priority deadline is on July 1, while the spring priority deadline is on December 1.
