The Jane Richardt Christie Scholarship shall be awarded to freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior collegian members of the Gamma-Butler University Chapter who will pursue undergraduate study in the field of elementary education during the academic year for which the scholarship is awarded. Should no applicants meet the first criteria, the scholarship funding shall be awarded to freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior collegian members of the Gamma-Butler University Chapter who will pursue undergraduate study in any field during the academic year for which the scholarship is awarded. Should no applicants meet the first and second criteria, the scholarship funding shall be awarded to senior collegian and alumnae members of the Gamma-Butler University Chapter who will pursue graduate study during the academic year for which the scholarship is awarded. Should no applicants meet the first to third criteria, the scholarship funding shall be awarded to collegian and alumnae members of the Fraternity who will pursue undergraduate or graduate study during the academic year for which the scholarship is awarded. In the event Gamma is disestablished and ceases to exist, unless and until Gamma is reestablished, the scholarship shall be awarded according to the first to the fourth criteria. A recommendation from a member of Kappa Alpha Theta and a recommendation from an academic or professional reference are required.
