Description

The Jennie (McDowell) and Harlan Layton Scholarship was created in 2015 after Harlan passed away. Harlan lived simply and was a very generous man who wanted to give back to the communities that provided opportunities to him and his wife. Applicants must be a current graduating senior of Mount Ayr, Iowa Public HS, and be planning to attend any 2- or 4- year qualified nonprofit college. Preference will be given to a student with a B average (3.49 or below), yet also meets post-secondary admission minimum standards.
