The Jesse McCutchen, Jr. Scholarship is open to minority students demonstrating both merit and need. Vera G. List established this scholarship in honor of Jesse McCutchen, Jr., a New York City sanitation worker who rescued a female jogger from an attacker in Central Park. Students who apply to the New School will automatically be considered for liberal arts scholarships. The priority deadline for the Fall semester is extended to April 1, and the priority deadline for the Spring semester is extended to December 1. Applications received after these deadlines will be reviewed if space is still available in the program. Students may visit the scholarship's website for more information.
