The Jesse Moore Urban League Scholarship is awarded to students based on their academic and personal achievements and life experiences. The award is named after the late Professor Emeritus Jesse Moore for his commitment to helping students excel and train for continuing leadership. As a long-time supporter of the Urban League, Moore documented the early years of the movement as part of his academic work. The University of Rochester shares the National Urban League's goal to ensure that the nation's youth are well-educated and equipped for economic self-reliance in the 21st century.
