The JGLR/Elsevier Student Award is awarded annually to the top-ranked paper in the current volume of the Journal of Great Lakes Research whose lead author was a student at the time of acceptance. Papers are evaluated on the basis of: originality, an outstanding original piece of work; contribution, a substantial body of theoretical, experimental or field research; and presentation, clarity of literary style and illustration.
