The Joan Wagner Essex Scholarship shall be awarded to a junior member of the Gamma Iota-University of Kentucky Chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta with a GPA of at least 3.0 who will pursue undergraduate study during the academic year for which the scholarship funding is awarded. Should no applicants meet the first criteria, the scholarship funding shall be awarded to a freshman, sophomore, or senior collegian member of Gamma Iota-University of Kentucky with a GPA of at least 3.0 who will pursue undergraduate study during the academic year for which the scholarship funding is awarded. Should no applicants meet the first and second criteria, the scholarship funding shall be awarded to a senior collegiate member of Gamma Iota-University of Kentucky with a GPA of at least 3.0 who will pursue graduate study during the academic year for which the scholarship funding is awarded. A recommendation from a member of Kappa Alpha Theta and a recommendation from an academic or professional reference are required.
