The Johnston Scholarship is awarded to students who have outstanding academic achievement and demonstrated financial need. Johnston Scholars are automatically invited to join the UNC Scholars Program. The Johnston Scholarship was the first scholarship at UNC to provide faculty mentoring and programming, and the UNC Scholars Program has its origins there.
