The Judith Lee Ridge Award recognizes the best article in the field of history in English published by a WAWH member in one of the two years preceding the award year. Applicants must hold membership that is current through the award year (December 31, 2027) when they submit their application. If their membership expires prior to December 31, 2027, applicants must renew prior to applying in order to avoid disqualification. The article must have been published in English in one of the two years preceding the award year. Articles must be submitted with full scholarly apparatus. Articles may only be submitted for consideration once; no resubmissions in subsequent years. Articles may only be submitted in a given year for consideration for a single award; do not submit a single article for multiple award categories. Please select the award that best fits the work. All fields of history will be considered. Award winners may not submit an application for the same award within five years of winning.
