In honor of Juliana Turchetti, Brazil's first female agricultural pilot and a Fire Boss seaplane pilot who gave her life in the line of duty while fighting wildfires, Dauntless Air is proud to present the Juliana Turchetti Memorial Scholarship. This award honors her legacy by supporting women pursuing a sea plane rating. This scholarship will award two women pilots with funding toward a seaplane add-on rating. The award can be used towards seaplane training course costs, aircraft rental, checkride fees, and potential lodging stipend (only if excess funds remain). Funds will be paid directly to the flight school or recognized and insured training provider and must be used within 12 months of the award date. International applicants may apply for the scholarship. Applicants must hold at least a Private Pilot Certificate at the time of application. They must hold a current FAA medical; Class 1, 2, or 3 is preferred, but BasicMed is considered. All applicants must be current WAI members with an expiration date of March 30, 2026 or later. Applicants must also submit two letters of recommendation. At least one letter of recommendation must be from a flight instructor or pilot who has flown with the applicant.
