The Katharine & Bryant Mathers Scholarship was established in 1988 to honor Katharine and Bryant Mather for their exceptional contributions to the knowledge of concrete. Both Mr. and Mrs. Mather, deceased, were Honorary Members of ACI and Mr. Mather served as President in 1964. Continuing funding is provided by a gift from the Mather estate. The scholarship is for students in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, studying in the field of concrete. Applicants must be a student enrolled in a concrete-related degree during the award cycle, which is the fall through spring semester of the standard academic year. They must also be proficient in the English language. If English is not the applicant's native language, they can upload a copy of their TOEFL score to their application. This is optional and not required. Applicants must also submit two endorsements that show their suitability to receive an award. One endorsement must be from an ACI member. Endorsers cannot be students or family members. Finalists must then attend the spring ACI Concrete Convention for their in-person interview. Please visit the scholarship's website or contact the ACI Foundation for more information.
