The Kathleen Markey and Kenneth Niejadlik, MD scholarship is awarded to collegian or alumna members of the Chi/Syracuse, Beta Iota/Colorado, or Zeta Chi/Johns Hopkins Chapters of Kappa Alpha Theta, in that order of preference, who will pursue undergraduate or graduate study during the academic year. Each award will be no less than $2,500. If no applicants meet these criteria, the scholarship funding will be held and added to the next year's award. If Chi, Beta Iota, or Zeta Chi are disestablished, the scholarship will still follow the same order of preference until reestablished. If all three chapters are disestablished, the scholarship will be awarded to a collegian or alumna member with a permanent address in New York, Wyoming, Colorado, New Jersey, or Florida (in that order), who qualifies under the Foundation's current scholarship criteria. If no one from these states qualifies, the scholarship will be awarded to any qualified collegian or alumna member of the Fraternity. To be eligible for Theta Foundation scholarships, you must be a college or alumna member of Kappa Alpha Theta in good standing with the Fraternity.
