The Lambda Alpha National Anthropology Honor Society National Scholarship will be awarded to three graduating seniors in the current academic year. The scholarship nominees must be majoring in anthropology and plan on attending graduate school in anthropology. Awards given will be 1st place ($5,000), 2nd ($3,000) and 3rd place ($2,000). A letter of nomination from the chapter faculty sponsor stating the candidate is applying for the National Scholarship must be submitted. A statement signed by the applicant, giving permission to the National Executive Council to view submitted transcripts, is also required. Applicants must submit two supporting letters of recommendation; one must be from a professional anthropologist. They must also submit an original research paper produced as part of undergraduate coursework at the current institution, indicating the course title and faculty supervising the student research. This piece of writing will be used to evaluate the applicant's research and writing skills.
