Description

The LaVerne "Bun" Young Memorial Scholarship was established by Davis Young, in memory of his wife. LaVerne joined ESA in 1959, and was a 40 year member of Alpha Lambda Chapter of ESA. She was a strong supporter of her chapter as well as many levels of ESA. LaVerne enjoyed the educational aspect as well as the philanthropic work supported by ESA International and ESA Foundation. With their interest in education, an endowment enabling Oregon students who wish to pursue a dream in teaching, nursing, or any medical profession was a fitting memorial to LaVerne. Applicants must have at least a minimum 3.00 GPA, maximum 4.00 GPA. Recipients will be selected based on service, leadership, financial need and scholastic ability.
