ADMEI administers an annual academic scholarship as a living tribute to Linda Thompson, who was a vital part of the Destination Management Company (DMC) profession. The Linda Thompson Memorial Scholarship is open to university students pursuing a degree in the hospitality industry. Applications are accepted from individuals throughout the world who are preparing for a career in Destination Management. The length of the educational program must be one year or longer. Two scholarships may be awarded, one to a North American student and one to a non-North American student. Applicants must submit a letter of recommendation from either a college or university professor or a professional in the event industry that verifies applicant's commitment and ability to complete the educational program; experience in the event management industry, whether volunteer or paid; and aptitude to deal with the demands of the Destination Management profession. For Extra Credit, students may submit a 45-60 second video introducing themselves and sharing why they want to work in the Destination Management industry.
