The Luso-American Education Foundation General Youth Scholarship will be awarded to students of Portuguese ancestry with a minimum GPA of 3.5 or; students who have taken Portuguese language at the high school level for at least two years and a minimum GPA of 3.0 or; students who attended the Luso-American Education Foundation Cultural Youth Summer Camp for a minimum of two years, with a minimum GPA of 3.0. The scholarship may be distributed in four yearly installments of $1,500 each year, for a total of $6,000; or in two yearly installments of $1,500 each year for a total of $3000; or $1,000 disbursed in total in the first year. All applicants must be currently a high school graduating senior, applying to enroll in a junior or four-year college or university, or a trade or business school.
