Marilou Ray Memorial Scholarship

Description

Marilou Ray was the business manager for Legis Consultancy, Inc. which is an engineering firm specializing in management, cost, schedule, and risk issues on complex projects. Marilou passed away unexpectedly in November 2011. This scholarship is a tribute to Marilou from her colleagues and family at Legis Consultancy. She was a strong advocate for higher education having been accepted at Marygrove College directly from the 11th grade in high school. After completing her degree, Marilou married and raised a family. She was instrumental in the founding of Legis Consultancy, Inc. Georgia Engineering Foundation is pleased to offer scholarships to freshmen, upperclassmen, and graduate students who are attending eligible engineering, engineering technology, and construction management programs. Eligible programs include current ABET-accredited undergraduate and graduate engineering/engineering technology programs and ACCE-accredited construction management programs. Only high school seniors who have been accepted to an ABET accredited program in the fall are eligible to apply. Incoming freshmen are required to provide three letters of reference. Letters of reference are best provided by non-family members who have an extended relationship with the applicant. Applicants must provide their names and email addresses. Top ranked applicants will be contacted and scheduled for interviews. Upper classmen and graduate students are required to bring an official copy of their most current transcript to the interview. If the applicant is not able to attend an on-campus interview, telephone interviews may be scheduled and conducted. Please visit the scholarship's website or contact the Georgia Engineering Foundation for more information.
