Marion E. McRae Trust Forestry Scholarship

Description

The Marion E. McRae Trust Forestry Scholarship will be awarded to students studying a major related to Forestry. Applicants may be high school seniors or graduates, or current postsecondary undergraduates. Midland Trust employees and children of Midland Trust employees are ineligible. Approved majors include Forestry (General); Forest Management/Natural Resource Management; Forestry: (other specialized tracks); Technology Integration: (GIS, remote sensing, AI, and drones); Sustainable Forest Management: Emphasis on climate-smart forestry, carbon accounting, and ecosystem services; Wildfire Prevention and Management; Urban Forestry; Environmental Policy and Guidance; Forestry, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering; Wildlife Ecology or Biology; Conservation Management; and other industries related to forestry. Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record; demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities; work experience; statement of educational and career goals and objectives; and unusual personal or family circumstances.
