The Monroe Scheflo Memorial Scholarship was established in 1985 by the U.S. Durum Growers Association in memory of Monroe Scheflo, the Association's President from 1982 to 1984 when he lost his battle with cancer. The U.S. Durum Growers Association Scholarship fund was established in 2014 to provide financial assistance to students from durum-producing states. For the Monroe Scheflo Memorial Scholarship, preference will be given to students from North Dakota attending college full-time and pursuing a degree in agriculture. For the U.S. Durum Growers Association Scholarship, preference will be given to students from durum producing states attending college full-time and pursuing a degree in agriculture.
