Description

The Myrna D. Schlegel/AWARE Scholarship was originally established in 1999 to honor Myrna Schlegel, a registered nurse. Scholarships will be awarded to nursing students who have chosen to devote their careers to work in the field of gerontology, especially in dealing with dementia. Applicants may be a U.S. citizen or legal, permanent resident. They must have been accepted to or are currently attending an undergraduate or graduate nursing program at eligible universities in Texas. Applicants must be able to demonstrate a passion for gerontology and hope to build a career in this field.
