Officer Chris Kilcullen Memorial Scholarship

Description

The Officer Chris Kilcullen Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to residents of towns in Lane, Linn, and Benton Counties within a 45-mile radius of Eugene: Alpine, Cheshire, Coburg, Cottage Grove, Crawfordsville, Creswell, Dexter, Elmira, Eugene, Fall Creek, Goshen, Halsey, Harrisburg, Horton, Jasper, Junction City, Leaburg, Lorane, Lowell, Marcola, Mohawk, Monroe, Noti, Pleasant Hill, Saginaw, Springfield, Veneta, Walker, and Walterville. Applicants must be graduates (including GED recipients and home-schooled graduates) of high schools in the towns mentioned. Preference will be given to applicants planning to have a service and community-focused career or who have carried out strong community service relating to their career field. Applicants must enroll at least half-time, preference will be given to students enrolled 3/4 time. Financial need may or may not be considered, but filing of FAFSA is still required. Semifinalists may be asked to provide references and may be interviewed by the selection committee group in Eugene. Students may apply-compete annually as this scholarship may be received for a maximum of 4 years. Applicants must not have a criminal record; a criminal background check may be run on semifinalists.
