Pamela J. Carter Nurses of Southern California Scholarship

Description

Pamela dedicated more than 40 years of her life to nursing, serving the Southern California community through her entire career at Kaiser Permanente, where she held numerous leadership roles and remained deeply committed to patient care and community well-being. After her passing from pancreatic cancer, the Pamela J. Carter Nurses of Southern California Scholarship was established in her honor to reflect what she believed in most, creating hope for the future. By supporting aspiring nurses who share her commitment to caring for others, it carries forward her generous spirit, her lifelong devotion to service, and the enduring love she shared with her husband and family, ensuring that her legacy continues to inspire hope for generations to come. Applicants must be a Southern California resident in LA or San Diego County. They must be a high school senior, graduate, or current college undergraduate. Applicants must be enrolled or accepted and plan to enroll into an associate's degree in nursing (AON) or a Bachelor of Science in nursing (BSN) at an accredited two- or four-year college or university located in LA or San Diego County for the entire upcoming academic year. If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $5,000 award for 2-year programs or $10,000 for 4-year programs. Provided there are qualified applicants, five recipients from San Diego County and five recipients from Los Angeles County recipients will be selected. Awards are renewable up to three years or until a bachelor's degree is earned, whichever occurs first. Please visit the scholarship's website for more information.
