The Arkansas Student Loan Authority provides several $1000 scholarships each year to incoming and current college students in Arkansas. Additionally, one of the scholarships drawn will be renewable for up to 4 years. Applicants must be a high school senior, a current college student or plan to be enrolled in a postsecondary institution for the following Fall-Spring academic year. To enter the monthly scholarship drawing, students must complete The College Quiz, a tool designed to help Arkansas high school and college students learn fundamental concepts about student loan financing. The scholarship entry form will be submitted at the end of the quiz. All scholarship recipients are required to submit an essay by April 1 to be considered for the annual renewal award. An essay packet will be sent to the recipients containing the essay topic, the guidelines, the judging criteria, and the deadline for returning the completed essay. The student essay judged to be the most outstanding will be awarded a scholarship that is eligible for renewal up to 3 additional years.
