The Robert N. and Helen H. Herbert Undergraduate Scholarship will be awarded to an undergraduate scholar who has a passion for naval architecture, marine or ocean engineering, and displaying evidence of professionalism and involvement in SNAME. The scholarship is open to applicants worldwide, who are actively involved members of SNAME and committed to future membership. SNAME membership is required at least four months prior to the application submission deadline. Awards are made for one year of study leading to a Bachelor of Science degree in naval architecture, marine engineering, ocean engineering, or in other fields directly related to the marine industry. Applicants must be enrolled in an undergraduate program during the academic year they are applying for scholarship and not receive their bachelor's degree prior to 15 April of that year.
